Our logo is a Möbius strip: a band given a half twist before its ends are joined. At first glance it looks like an ordinary ring, but it hides one of the most elegant ideas in mathematics.
It was described in 1858, almost simultaneously and independently, by German mathematicians August Ferdinand Möbius and Johann Benedict Listing. It was one of the first examples of a non-orientable surface and helped shape topology: the branch of mathematics that studies what stays the same when you stretch, bend, or deform an object.
We chose it because, in a single shape, it sums up how we think about software and how we work with the people who use it.
Try it yourself
Take a strip of paper, give it a half twist, and tape the ends together. Now draw a line down the middle without lifting your pen: you'll get back to where you started after painting "both sides".
